Group Lessons
Kids riding horses in a line.

Double J Riding Club's group riding lessons are the foundation of our program. Lessons are available for all skill levels in both western and english. They are limited to 4-5 regular riders of similar skill level. These small group lessons make for a safe, enjoyable environment in which to learn how to ride. Riders will progress quicker in classes targeted to their similar needs. Each class is 45 minutes in length and we urge our riders to come out 20 min or so ahead of time to learn to tack and groom.

Double J Riding Club Lesson Program

Double J Riding Club offers lessons for beginner, intermediate and advanced riders including flat riding, western and jumping lessons. Our small group lessons are the perfect setting to provide a safe environment in which to learn while also providing them with "riding friends" to enjoy the experience with. With an emphasis on safety and enjoyment, our experienced trainers and quality lesson horses provide an enjoyable environment in which the rider can learn and progress quickly.

The foundation of our riding program is our small group riding lessons. These lessons are offered only as a monthly commitment lesson. During weekly lessons, all students receive additional groundwork instruction on care and handling of horses. Students are continuously evaluated and moved up to more advanced classes as they progress. Many students work towards participating in our annual fall horse shows which families can attend.

Lesson Payment, Absences & Makeups Policy:

Tuition for ALL GROUP lessons is to be paid in full monthly by the 7th of the month.  Monthly payment is EXPECTED and NECESSARY to ensure your riding spot.  We do not allow students in group lessons to pay as they go.  To secure your spot we require a credit card be placed on file.  (click here for Credit Card Authorization form).  This card will be used to pay for classes monthly.  Should you wish to pay by cash or check you will need to do so prior to the 7th of each month.  Otherwise, all monthly fees will be charged on the 7th.   Due to the fact that our classes are ongoing and continuous (not session based), we will assume that you are continuing each month unless we receive notification via email that you are not continuing.  If you miss a class for any reason though, we do allow our riders to schedule a makeup.  All makeups must be scheduled within a six month period of the date missed.  Just contact us at  to schedule a makeup class.

Special Needs Recreational Riding: While Double J Riding Club does not offer therapeutic riding instruction, we do have trainers with NARHA certification and experience. Please be advised that if we determine that your child requires side walkers or additional staff, there will be an additional charge to cover that expense.
