April Lessons

Thank you for your interest in outdoor lessons at Double J! Please thoroughly read all of the information below for booking your spot for the month.
You must pay in full for the month of June in order to secure your spot. The cost is $310 which includes 5 private lessons and Sawyer’s processing fee. If you are riding on Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays, or Saturdays you will only get 4 lessons in June and you will receive a $60 refund after you sign up. If you are going to miss a lesson please let us know at least 24 hours in advance, if you do so you will receive a makeup lesson in a group. If you cancel within the 24 hour window or no-show for your lesson you cannot complete a makeup for the missed class. If we need to cancel your lesson due to weather conditions you will receive a $60 refund.
The time slot you choose (e.g. Friday at 4:30PM) will be yours each week for the month of June. The day you choose is your starting date. Once you have selected a time we cannot guarantee that you will be able to change it. Please reach out to us if you need a new time and we will work with you to try and find one. Mid-June a Double J staff member will reach out to you to see if you want to continue your lessons in July. If you are continuing we will charge your card on file to reserve your spot for the coming month.
Any spots left open for July after June riders have decided whether to keep their spot will be open to the public. If you are a June rider looking to switch your time for July you will be given priority to pick a new time before the waitlist or general public.
Lessons are WEATHER PERMITTING. We will call you at the phone number you provide if your lesson is canceled due to inclement weather. There is a chance you will ride in the indoor arena but your lesson will still be affected by weather. Group lessons are guaranteed an arena rain or shine, weather permitting privates are not.
Please arrive at least 10-15 minutes before your ride time. Lessons are back to back so if you are late your lesson cannot run over. If you are interested in grooming and tacking your own horse you are welcome to arrive earlier. You should wear long pants and sturdy, closed-toe, shoes. You are welcome to borrow one of our riding helmets but we strongly encourage you to purchase your own ASTM certified helmet to bring to your lesson – no bike helmets or other non-equestrian helmets are allowed. When you arrive you should drive down the hill and park in our parking lot outside the barn. Walk into the main barn across from the gray horse statue to meet your tacker and check in.
